Billing Information
The financial policy set forth is to expect payment for your services at the time your services are rendered. Co-payments and balance dues are expected to be paid at the time of service. We accept cash, checks and major credit cards. As a courtesy to you, we will complete your insurance claim for you. Most major insurances, Medicaid and Medicare are accepted.
We will provide insurance claim filing for the insurance plans that we participate in. If there is a balance due after payment is rendered by the insurance company, we will expect your prompt payment of that balance.
It is your responsibility to provide us with current insurance plan information prior to services rendered in order for accurate billing of services to be filed.
In order to accommodate the needs and requests of our patients and the community, we have enrolled in various managed care plans. While we gladly provide this service to our patients, it is important for the patient to be familiar with the guidelines of their insurance plan requirements regarding authorizations, deductibles, co-payments and other vital requirements.
We strive to offer our patients quality medical care and assist the patient to receive maximum benefit from their insurance plan.

At Vero Beach Surgery Center (VBSC) our goal is to provide patients with high quality care and the best possible surgery center experience, from registration through discharge. We know that understanding billing, insurance and medical records may seem overwhelming at times. To make this process more transparent and help patients understand their personal out-of-pocket responsibility, the surgery center is providing the following information.
VBSC expects payment for services at the time services are rendered. Co-payments, deductibles, co-insurance, and balances due are expected to be paid at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards. While VBSC does not offer a financial assistance or charity program, however in some instances, a payment plan may be arranged.

If there is a balance due after payment is rendered by the insurance company, we will expect your prompt payment of that balance.

Patients may find information regarding service bundles in Florida at http://pricing.floridahealthfinder.gov.
A service bundle means the reasonably expected center services and care provided to a patient for a specific treatment, procedure, or diagnosis as posted on the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration’s website. The service bundle information is a non-personalized estimate of costs that may be incurred by the patient for anticipated services. Actual costs will be based on services actually provided to the patient.
Patients and prospective patients or legal guardians have a right to request a personalized estimate from VBSC. This estimate or an update to a previous estimate shall be provided within 7 business days from receipt of the request. Unless the patient requests a more personalized estimate (charges specific to the patient’s anticipated services),the estimate may be based upon the average payment received for the anticipated service bundle. Every estimate shall advise the patient:
- to contact their health insurer or HMO for anticipated cost sharing responsibilities,
- that the actual cost may exceed the estimate,
- that the facility fee includes all services provided by VBSC, from registration to discharge, not including services from other providers
- that services may be provided by other health care providers who may bill separately, and that the health care practitioners anticipated to provide services to the patient while in the center should be contacted regarding a personalized estimate, billing practices and participation with the patient’s insurance provider or health maintenance organization (HMO) as the practitioners may not participate with the same health insurers or HMO as the center.
- that patient may pay less for the procedure or service at another facility or in another health care setting
Patients or legal guardians have a right to request an itemized statement or bill from VBSC. The center shall provide an itemized statement or bill upon request of the patient or the patient’s survivor or legal guardian within 7 business days after the patient’s discharge or release, or 7 business days after the request, whichever is later. The itemized statement or bill will include a description of the individual charges from each department or service area by date.
